Coach Gardner is MBVC's Director and Mountain Brook High School's Varsity Volleyball Head Coach. She is now in her seventh year as a coach and teacher at Mountain Brook High School and has loved every minute! Passionate about spreading the sport of volleyball and developing strong, healthy, driven young women, offering a program such as MBVC to the Mountain Brook and Birmingham community is her passion. Prior to teaching and coaching, Coach Gardner played four years of Division One volleyball at Samford University. She won the Southern Conference championship twice which led to two NCAA tournament appearances. Coach Gardner served as captain her junior and senior seasons.
Maren is an experienced coach and is excited to be coaching the 13U team this year. She grew up in Palmer, Alaska, and left for college where she competed at Michigan State University. After college, she began coaching and spent time as a Grad Assistant at Concordia University, St. Paul, a volunteer Assistant at Michigan State, and First Assistant at Marshall University. She has also worked at the club level for two clubs in Chicago: Wildcat Juniors and First Alliance Volleyball Club. She currently works full time as a Corporate Recruiter for BGSF and coaches several teams for St. Rose Academy. She also serves as the co-commissioner for the Birmingham Toy Bowl League. In her spare time, she loves to garden and watch college sports (especially volleyball!!).
This is Coach Erin's fourth year with Mountain Brook Volleyball Club. Last year she coached both the Pink and Green Leagues, and her Pink League team won the end-of-the-season tournament! Coach Erin is also an assistant coach for the Mountain Brook High School varsity team.
A former Mountain Brook varsity alumna, Coach Erin went on to play at the collegiate level for Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Coach Erin loves sharing the game of volleyball with young players and cannot wait for the 2024 Mountain Brook Volleyball Club season to begin!
This will be Coach Scout's fourth year at MBVC! During the fall, she served as the varsity assistant coach. Previously, she was the Volunteer Assistant for Samford University after her playing career there. She won 4 Southern Conference Championships between her 7 total years as a part of the Samford volleyball program. She is beyond excited to be a Spartan and finds joy in being able to pass on her love for the game of volleyball to others.
Originally from Mountain Brook, Morgan is a 2007 graduate of MBHS, where she played Varsity Volleyball from 2005-2007. Since graduating from Marquette University in 2011, she has spent the last 11 years working in Television Production in both Los Angeles and New York, and just recently moved back to Bama with her husband, Jordan, and last spring welcomed her first child, Darby! The second she moved back, she wanted to get involved with Mountain Brook Volleyball since the program has come such a long, LONG way since she last played over 15 years ago, and fell in love with MBVC upon introduction! She loves coaching youth volleyball and basketball and is so excited to be a part of the incredible Mountain Brook Volleyball Club staff! She can't wait to help her players grow into the incredible competitors and women they're bound to become! Go Spartans Go! Coach Becca is so excited for another year with MBVC! She started playing volleyball in fourth grade, so she is passionate about falling in love with the sport at a young age! Coach Becca played on the University of Kentucky’s club team as libero for four years and has over 10 years of coaching experience. She jumps on any opportunity to still play when time allows. Outside of work and volleyball, Coach Becca enjoys gardening, sports events, and exploring new trails with her dog, Ramsey.
Coach Bolton is super excited to begin her first season with MBVC! She has over 30 years of coaching experience in volleyball, basketball and track & field and currently serves as the head volleyball coach at John Carroll Catholic High School where she works closely with the Toy Bowl league and coaches to develop the program. Coach Bolton works full time at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama as a legal analyst. She is a licensed and ordained minister. In her limited spare time she enjoys spending time with family, serving in ministry, traveling and watching anything sports related.
Coach Greer graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 2022. She is currently a junior at Samford University and plays on the volleyball team. She won the Southern Conference championship in 2023 and went on to compete in the Division 1 NCAA tournament. That same year she was named to the All-Freshman Team for the SoCon. Coach Greer is pursing a degree is Sport Administration with a minor in marketing. This will be her 1st year coaching for MBVC but has had prior experience coaching for Samford Volleyball Camps.
Coach Sam is a Junior on the Samford Volleyball team. She is working to complete her degree in Health Sciences in hopes of becoming an Occupational Therapist some day. Originally from from Plainfield, Illinois, Coach Sam played and coached club volleyball for 5 years at Sports Performance Volleyball Club and the Great Lakes Youth Academy. She was also was a trainer for The Volleyball Institute in 2023. Coach Sam is so excited to share her love for the game with MBVC!
Coach Amelia is super excited to be joining the MBVC family! She is a junior libero on the Samford Volleyball team. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, she started playing volleyball at 12 years old too! She has over four years of coaching experience and loves helping young players excel and find joy in something that has brought her so much happiness since she was a child!
